It was a thrilling start for the Malta Poker Showdown. 20 players from France, Usa, Italy and Malta battled it out for the €2850 prize pool.
Players started registering for the €150+15 tournament at 4pm while the actual tournament kicked off at 4:45pm. The first one out was Carmelo Callus with a pair of Qs while JP Stivala went all in with a pair of 5’s against K 10 of his opponent. Stivala was leading his opponent until another K was shown on the turn. Stivala went out in 14th place.
Dinner break was held at 8pm when players reunited at the Ristorante Panoramico for a quick meal before the final table. 8 players finished playing it out on the final televised table with Marco Curmi and Raymond Borg entering the final stage as chip leaders. Eventually three players remained in play at 11pm, who decided to go for a deal on the total prize pool.
Mr. Marco Curmi was declared as the winner of the tournament, followed by Raymond Borg in second place and Thomas Harvey in third place.

Thomas Harvey - €950 + 33 non-negotiable chips + Match & Play Voucher + Casino di Venezia Gadgets + Sunday Buffet for 2+ VPC Polo + 100 points for the VPL Ranking
4th – 8th Place – Wine + Casino di Venezia Gadgets + 100 points for the VPL Ranking
The next event of the Malta Poker Showdown series is scheduled for the 25th April while satellites for the tournament will be played weekly on Fridays and Saturdays. Don’t miss out on what promises to be another exciting tournament.
